For me, it began on February 4, 2008 when I read a post on UFO
Updates about the Stephenville, Texas sightings. (1)
I had read several of them before and deleted most of them
afterward, but on February 4th, I realized there was something about
the sightings that bothered me; there was something about the date
of January 8th. That is why I kept deleting most of the posts
concerning it. Something was making me feel uneasy.
I wrote a reply to the February post, but decided not to send it. I
also began to suspect this probably wasn't just a sighting of a
craft or mysterious lights and that people might have been abducted
that night. I then emailed Dallas-Fort Worth MUFON investigator
Terry Groff, whose reply on the Updates list I had just read.
Below is my post that I didn't send to Updates. However, I did
include it with my written communication to Terry Groff.

"This may sound crazy, but as I read this post, something bothered
me about it. I looked at my desk - covered in papers and saw a date
on a piece of paper [January 8, 2008] with a note that said 'draw'
with an arrow pointing down. It was my journal."
"I read my journal and realized that I had an encounter that same
night. I really feel like an idiot for just realizing this, but
thought I'd mention it. I'm now wondering, with all of the people in
this area who saw something that night, if any of them had more
occur than just seeing a craft? I'm sure MUFON's investigation will
shed some light on this, but just in case, I thought I'd mention
it."
"It seems inconceivable that I would not remember this date after
all of the press and posts covering it. I read several of them, but
not all of them... then it's 'delete, delete, delete...'"
"I've stated this before, but I often write in my journal to sort of
'purge' the uncomfortable memories and then don't read it again for
quite some time. It's not fun to read it... but sometimes I go back
and review it - usually many weeks or months later."
My Note to Terry Groff
"I'm sending this to you in case anyone else has reported a CE-IV
regarding these sightings. I was going to post this, but then
realized how stupid that would be."
"Below is what I was going to post and below that is what I
remembered, cut and pasted in exactly as it appears in my journal."
"If someone else has reported anything like this for that night I'd
appreciate you letting me know."
"I don't want to be interviewed in person, but I if this helps the
investigation or anyone else who may have seen more than lights or a
craft, I thought it might help if I sent this to you….I live
[sentence omitted]."
What I Remember
Journal Entry: January 8, 2008: I was outside at night and I saw an
object flying over me sort of flittering about in the night sky. I
thought it was a craft, but realized quickly as it came closer to me
that it was a foot wide. It shot around really fast and made lots of
sharp, nearly right angle turns moving very fast. Then it got right
over my head and flew down toward my head in a spiral or like a
slinky when stretched out. I reached up and grabbed it just before
it touched my head and it collapsed or rather 'scrunched' in my
hands. It felt like a fabric - it was a material, but it was sort of
prickly, but it didn't hurt my hands. It seemed alive, but not
alive. It was under intelligent control, I believe, but it was not
alive in the sense that a bird would be alive.
The next thing I know, there is a small, green box-shaped craft with
a Being inside. I got inside of the craft - it was just large enough
for two people. Suddenly, it 'flipped' and I felt a jerking
sensation and we were airborne. I saw two satellites fairly close up
in orbit.* They looked just like the ones we have in orbit around
Earth - they were ours. The craft then flipped or jerked again or
moved really quickly and the two satellites were somewhat farther
away. We apparently had moved a fairly long distance in a matter of
a second. It was amazing.
The next memory I have is of being inside something with large white
rooms: another, larger craft. There were two tall Greys
(3) about 6'5' to 7' tall. They looked
somewhat human so I surmise they were hybrids. They had light tan
skin and had eyes similar to ours, but they were squinting a bit,
like we would in bright sunlight. They had bulging skulls like I've
seen before and right below the ridge on their foreheads was a
second set of eyes that looked vestigial. They were there, but
looked like they were no longer of any use as organs for sight. A
Being said to me telepathically,
"He has redundant sets of eyes."
As I looked across the way - about five feet from me - that's when I
saw the Being I described above. I then looked at the Being who was
talking to me and realized he also had redundant sets of eyes and
looked almost exactly like the Being standing apart from me. I found
it all very fascinating. [End of Journal Entry]
New Information
One of the things that is still bothering me is that every time I
think about the beginning of this experience, I see myself standing
near a wooded area in our neighborhood at night and there are
several other people outside with me.
I live near a greenbelt area that has a small field and a patch of
woods. On the other side of this is a huge field that is used for
farming. I remember seeing other people with me when the small
object was flittering over my head. Everyone seemed fascinated with
what they were seeing up in the sky, but I realized that it was more
of a distraction - something to keep our minds focused - and not a
real craft. It seemed to be a real object since I touched or
'scrunched' it, but it was not a craft as the other people near me
seemed to believe.
These other people were also standing near me when I got inside of
the small green craft and they just stood there watching, seemingly
unaware of what they were actually looking at. Somehow I kept
'seeing' this when I would think about this encounter so I decided
to add this information to my journal because I believe there may
have really been other people near me.
I don't know any other reason for a group of us to have been
standing outside at night together watching this object fly over our
heads, and I now wonder if these other people were abductees.
Cities Involved
The following is Terry Groff's post to Updates in response to
another post about these sightings possibly being related to some
sort of psyops or psychological operations.
Terry wrote: "Well, Maybe, but it would've had to have been
widespread. Here is a list of Texas cities corresponding to reports
to MUFON of events that occurred on January 8th, 2008:
Aubrey
Lewisville
Grapevine.
Fort Worth
Burleson,
Granbury
Stephenville
Dublin
De Leon
Comanche
Brownwood
Putnum
[Selden] *See My Addendum at the end of this article*
"This covers about 160 miles."
"Granted the witnesses did not always describe the same thing but it
is still interesting that these cities are on a virtual line
extending SW of Aubrey to Brownwood. Putnum, Texas was the only
'wayward' city." (4)
From Terry Groff's post, it sounds as if the sightings originated in
the general area of Aubrey and the object or objects moved in a
southwesterly direction toward Brownwood. I looked at a map and
found the cities and drew a line along the path of these cities and
realized that the city I live in falls almost directly on same line
that these other cities do. In fact, the city I live in is located
closer to the line of sightings than Aubrey, Burleson and De Leon.

Similar Descriptions
I also noted that my description of what it felt like and what I saw
while inside of the small green craft is similar to what witnesses
observed.

Compare this with the general description of the movements of the
lights from eyewitnesses to the sightings as stated by Texas State
Director Ken Cherry:
"The video evidence tends to substantiate witness reports…Primarily,
people are describing spheres…which move, turn and twist at great
speeds. Sometimes seen in formation, they then suddenly move around
erratically." (6)
And,
"Fewer people report seeing a very large craft, variously described
as 'bigger than Wal-Mart,' 'bigger than three football fields,' or 'a mile long and a half mile wide.'" (7)
I think it's possible that I was not the only person to have
experienced an abduction on January 8, 2008 and that I may have been
on one of the 'lights' or craft that these various witnesses
described seeing. When you really think about this, it is somewhat
incredible. Could some of these people have been witnessing
abductions taking place? And, more importantly, could some of these
witnesses also be abductees?
Mentally Directed
I wish I had emailed my account to MUFON the following day, just
after I documented it in my journal. For some unknown reason, it
took me almost a month to make the connection to the date of January
8th and this makes me wonder if I was given a sort of a mental
directive by these Beings not to. I did document what I remembered
about the encounter in my journal, but I did not 'connect the dots'
until I saw the date over and over again in various postings on
Updates, most of which I deleted without reading. In addition, I
didn't even know where most of these cities were located in
comparison to where I live until I saw the list of cities in the
post by Terry Groff and went and looked them up. (8)
I know it will take time for MUFON and other investigators to sort
all of this out and it will take even longer for other people who
were abducted that night to come forward. I seriously doubt that I
was the only abductee involved in this. I also feel that it is
important for me to share what I remembered from that night because
it may be part of a larger picture of what people witnessed. I have
no knowledge about these sightings other than what is available to
the public; I have not spoken with any other witnesses or
investigators concerning this case.
Selling Evidence
I look forward to learning more from the photographic evidence that
has yet to be analyzed. Unfortunately, according to MUFON, "…there
are parties willing to pay for videographic evidence, therefore some
witnesses are holding back, hoping to make money from their stories
or evidence. This means that MUFON has been unable to 'get our hands
on original video evidence directly because everyone is trying to
sell their video and photos,' said Cherry." (9)
Let us hope that the individuals in Texas who are holding on to
their videos and photographs while waiting for the right buyer to
come along will do the right thing and not continue to try to profit
from this. They will eventually realize - as so many other people in
the field of ufology have over the last several decades - there's
rarely much profit to be gained when it comes to the UFO phenomenon.
Most of what the public knows about UFOs and alien abductions comes
from a 'labor of love' by people who have dedicated their lives to
studying them and freely sharing what they have learned.
* This is what the two satellites looked like. The only
differences are that I didn't see the protrusions coming out from
the middle and the shields did not have light reflecting off of
them.

Addendum June 2008
It is interesting that the city of Selden was not originally
mentioned in this communication. I discovered later that this is the
city where pilot Steve Allen made his videotape. Selden is located
SSE of Stephenville and should have been included in the cities
involved in the line of sightings. My apologies to Steve Allen for
this omission.
Quoting reporter Angelia Joiner:
"Steve Allen is the pilot who first
brought the sightings to the attention of the world. He and three
friends saw something so unbelievably large and absolutely silent on
Jan. 8 they didn't feel it should remain between friends. And, when
a few minutes later the object appeared for the second time,
apparently being chased by F-16 jets, it made the sighting all the
more interesting."

The only city I knew the location of was Fort Worth. I didn't look
at a map regarding these sightings until the evening of April 8,
2008 after beginning this article. I'm still surprised by what I
found.
