Note To The Reader
I have
previously served as a MUFON State Section Director and am currently
a MUFON Benefactor, a lifetime member. I dedicated a section in my
new book to promoting MUFON and its objectives and have promoted
MUFON during my interviews. I also have Dwight Connelly’s book
The World’s Best UFO Cases listed in my notes and bibliography
sections of my new book. This clarification is in no way intended to
place Dwight or MUFON in a negative light. It is being published as
a clarification of the facts regarding the book review that was
published in the October 2007 issue of the MUFON Journal.
I sent
a shortened version of this clarification to the new editor of the
MUFON journal and was sent back a response telling me that MUFON
does not publish a reaction or clarification to a book review. I was also told that my clarification was much too long
and that I would be given 200 words or less to correct errors of
fact if any were made.
I declined the 200-word offer since there was
no way to make the necessary corrections of fact in so few words. I
also thought back to all of the rebuttals I had read in the MUFON
Journal in past years and wondered why I was not given the same
opportunity to respond. Even the October issue of the journal
contained yet another ‘Friedman-Sparks Continuing Saga of Rebuttals’
that had already been published all over the Internet and was yet
again, filling the pages of the MUFON Journal.
I know it wasn’t easy reading, so I want to
thank Dwight Connelly for taking his time to review my new on-line
book, I Forgot What I Wasn’t Supposed To Remember: An Expanded
View Of The Alien Abduction Phenomenon.
Misperceptions
It is with the understanding that we all have
our own views and perspectives about the alien abduction phenomenon
that I will try to clear up misperceptions made to the readers of
the MUFON Journal about my new book. Some people use the term
‘abduction’ while others refer to extraterrestrial visitations and
experiences as ‘paranormal events’ or ‘visions’ or strangely, even
cases of ‘contacteeism.’
In the beginning of the review Connelly
states, "It is difficult to know whether to call the episodes
described by Ms. Wilson abductions or visions."
This statement
gave the reader the impression that I did not differentiate between
my abductions and the visions I saw (or was given) and I’d like to
clarify that now. When I wrote this book, I did my best to
differentiate between abductions and visions for the reader. I went
so far as to include the visions in a separate chapter toward the
end of the book, titled A World At War because the visions I
saw almost always pertained to an upcoming war. Six
paragraphs of the MUFON Journal book review were dedicated to
visions - that are all included in a single chapter of my
book - while my book consists of Forty-three (43) chapters, an
afterword, two appendices and a bibliography.
Other topics I
covered did include, as Connelly states, "possible movement
through time, possible movement into other dimensions, learning how
to levitate material objects…" and these types of experiences
were also written into their own chapter titled, It’s About
Time…It’s About Space. Both the chapter concerning visions as
well as the just-referenced chapter have introductory paragraphs
explaining the unusual nature of these specific types of events as
they relate to the overall abduction phenomenon. The reviewer’s
focus was mainly on these two topics and omitted mention of the fact
that there are 41 other chapters with different
information and experiences to consider.
There was also
a mention in the book review of "rape" as if it were as common as
the other types of experiences in my book. This is not the case at
all. There was one incident of what might be considered rape
in my book during a MILAB experience and it was written in a manner
so as not to distract from the overall information.
Connelly
writes, "Toward the end of the book the author, a life-long
Democrat, gets into politics, making it plain she has no use for
President Bush or most of the mass media. Al Gore is okay."
First of all, I
never stated this in I Forgot… and I did not delve into
politics so much as I touched upon the ET presence as it relates to
current World events and a possible upcoming war. It is true that I
have no use for most of the mass media in our country, but I never
said anywhere in my new book that I was a life-long Democrat and
that Al Gore "is okay." My mentioning Al Gore pertained to terrible
environmental effects such as global warming and climate change.
Abductees and
what some call ‘new-agers’ have been shown visions and have been
given information about this subject for decades, but we were
ignored, ridiculed or told that these images were only a test by the
aliens. What I wrote pertaining to this subject follows:
"…Now,
when former Vice President Al Gore comes out and says almost the
same thing (excepting the aliens) everyone suddenly takes
notice. Guess what? There’s nothing new here. We have known this
was coming for two decades."
My
reasoning for including this material was to inform the reader that
some of the information abductees were shown and what these beings
were telling us back in the 1980s and early 1990s is happening
today. Overall, this pertains to the idea that maybe some of these
Beings are telling us the truth; that maybe they know more about
what’s coming than humans do and this may be part of the reason they
have been carrying out a ‘hybrid breeding program.’
Connelly
also wrote, "She
feels the war and such by-products as the Patriot Act are part of
the alien agenda."
What I
discussed in my book was (to paraphrase) "…these particular
Beings, whom I never remembered seeing before," are probably
what led to the war and such by-products as the Patriot Act. I’m not
generalizing. I’m not talking about Greys, Hybrids or Blondes. I was
referring to a specific type of Being. Beings so different
that they have liquid black energy in place of a face, yet these
Beings were wearing long capes with hoods and had what appeared to
be arms; similar to what other abductees have reported, but
uncannily dissimilar.
At the end of the book review the
reader is left with the incredibly inaccurate statement: "…the
author still does not know for sure whether the military is involved
in abductions, the purpose of the hybrid program, or whether the
Earth will actually be attacked by aliens - pretty basic stuff."
First,
I have to say that there is nothing "pretty basic" about any of the
above subjects. Budd Hopkins, David Jacobs, Yvonne Smith and John
Carpenter have all struggled with the question and purpose of the
hybrid [breeding] program. We - and others - have come to the
general conclusion that the ETs are preparing the hybrids to live
among us, or somewhere on Earth. Some abductees (and
researchers) believe they are already here. That’s as close to a
conclusion that anyone has come to and again, there’s nothing basic
about this at all. If we are correct, this will have an incredibly
profound effect on humanity.
Second,
as far as the military being involved with abductions, I wrote at
great length about this topic in my book and at least eight
chapters are dedicated to this subject. It is a very delicate
subject to write about, but I offer many examples of this in my new
book. There is no doubt in my mind that military personnel are
involved, not as a large overt group, but as a secret, relatively
small and highly compartmentalized group of individuals. One example
can easily be located by using the "Find" tool in the on-line
version of my book and typing in "Abducted By The Military."
Why Did I Write This Clarification?
My
purpose for writing this clarification is to let MUFON members know
that my book is about much, much more than an "abductee’s visions"
and that there may be a positive outcome to the overall
abduction phenomenon. I’ve been a member of MUFON for close to 20
years and I’ve interviewed many credible abductees during that time.
You may be surprised to know this, but my experiences are not
dissimilar from theirs. However, many abductees are not in a
position to share, or are not willing to share such personal
information about their experiences with the public.
Ever
since I published my journals in my first book, The Alien Jigsaw,
I’ve offered myself - as an abductee - for study. I hope MUFON
members will educate themselves and read my new book. There are many
abductees who need your help, even if it’s just someone to talk to
about their experiences. As a member of MUFON, you should be reading
every book about abductions and alien contact that you can get your
hands on because those 'lights' up in the sky come down to Earth a
lot more often than you realize. |
