McMinnville 2015 UFO Festival
May 14th - May 17th
By Global ET Research
The 16th Annual McMenamins UFO Festival was another huge success this year with diverse exotic and realistic “alien” themed costumes highlighting the parade on the 16th. Coordinated by Tim Hills, of the McMenamin’s Pubs, this year’s conference featured speakers including the ever famous former logger turned author, Travis Walton, who has been very active speaking at several events over the past few years. Walton kicked off the festival, speaking on the 14th, the first night of the four day-long conference.
The City of McMinnville’s UFO Festival was inspired by the Trent Family’s sighting and their having the good sense to photograph the structured, unidentified flying object as it moved over their farm. The photograph gained national attention when it was published on the front page of the Telephone Register, now the New Register newspaper.
On the second day of the conference, the afternoon featured Kathleen Marden, the niece of the late Betty Hill – sometimes lovingly referred to as the Mother of the Abduction phenomenon. Kathleen Marden, a scientifically oriented UFO and ET Contact researcher with over 25 years of experience, is the author of several scientific papers about the Contact phenomenon. She has also authored three books: Captured! The Betty and Barney Hill UFO Experience, and Science was Wrong, coauthored with nuclear physicist / scientific ufologist Stanton T. Friedman. Her most recent book, which she coauthored with Denise Stoner, is titled The Alien Abduction Files.
Veteran ufologist and former nuclear physicist, Stanton Friedman, presented his always riveting, information-packed lecture which we have had the pleasure of hearing at previous events. Friedman still believes there is a type of Cosmic Embargo on the human race which will remain in place until we humans put down our weapons and stop warring amongst ourselves. We cannot go “out there” until we first take care of business here at home, on the nursery, planet Earth.
Saturday morning began with a very interesting presentation by Canadian researcher Grant Cameron who described experiencing a mental “download” of information – a paranormal experience – while attending a UFO conference in 2012. This unusual (but not unheard of before) “download” included information which Cameron felt was implanted into his consciousness and showed a connection between the UFO phenomenon and the Spirit or “Other” world. This event has instilled a desire within Cameron to learn and research the paranormal realm ever since.
The Festival Parade provided an uplifting party like atmosphere and included people donning every type of “alien” costume one could imagine – and there was even an “alien” pet costume contest, which was definitely our favorite.
On the 17th, the last day of the event, a Breakfast with Peter Davenport took place. Davenport is a long time friend and director of the National UFO Reporting Center in Washington. (By the way, it’s a beautiful, scenic drive to McMinnville, Oregon.) As with many websites and endeavors involving these phenomena, Peter’s decade’s long dedication is a true labor of love.
Don’t miss next year’s UFO Festival. It is already scheduled to appear at nearly the same time and definitely the same location – McMinnville, Oregon 2016!
